Meet the Designers

Donna Audette

What was your first job?

I started my first full time job on my 17th birthday as a Brockton Public Library Aide.

The building was built in the early 1900’s with marble floors and skylights in the ceilings; beautiful!

My job was to retrieve books requested from patrons from the stacks hidden in the back of the massive front desk using the now outdated Dewey Decimal System.

I love to read so this was a perfect job for me!

What’s one thing you’re currently trying to make a habit?

I am faithfully trying to keep in touch with all my family and friends by sending cards for all their life events.

First concert?

Genesis at Providence Civic Center. Last concert tour with Peter Gabriel. First time seeing Phil Collins and he was a crazed soul on the drums back then!

If you had $10,000 to donate to a charity, which would you choose and why?

The Red Cross. The Red Cross serves globally in any type of crisis so I feel that my donation would be immediately beneficial. That and I am a dedicated blood donor.

Who would you trade places with if you could?

This was too hard to choose a human as there are too many choices.

I think I’d like to trade places with a dolphin for a day. They are majestic creatures who can enjoy both worlds above and below water. They are intelligent, kind mammals which we could all aspire to emulate.

Favorite part of your job?

The best part of my job is the creativity of it all.  There are endless possibilities and each project brings a new perspective.
