Byrd Tile Distributors is a family-owned tile supplier built upon Teamwork, Integrity, Service, & Excellence. We strive to provide the best possible experience for customers and employees alike, all while attributing our efforts and success to His glory through Jesus Christ.
Byrd Tile Distributors was founded by Herbert โHerbโ Byrd in 1975, located on S. Harrington Street in what is now downtown Raleighโs Warehouse District. Herb brought with him over 25 yearsโ experience in the tile and stone industry as a mason in central and eastern North Carolina. He decided to open up his own store with the help of his two sons, Greg and Mark, in efforts to focus less on installation and more on distribution.ย
Since then, Byrd Tile changed addresses around downtown Raleigh several times before landing in its current spot on Tarheel Drive โ just beside the I-440 Beltline โ in 1993. Since it first opened, Byrd Tile has grown from 2 employees to over 25 employees in three different locations.

Greg took over day-to-day responsibilities in 1982 and continues to serve as President today. In that time, he has grown the company to better service all of central and eastern North Carolina. Greg has opened additional locations in Greenville/Winterville (1995) and Wake Forest (2019) and expanded the companyโs delivery service to all parts of North Carolina and neighboring states. Greg brings over 40 years of experience in the tile industry, allowing Byrd Tile to continue being the standard of excellence for tile distributors in all of North Carolina.
Will, just like his father Greg, grew up in the company working in the Raleigh warehouse during the summers and after school. Will joined the company in 2017 and has been serving as Vice President since 2022. As a third-generation member of the leadership team, Will brings his sales and marketing experience to continue to grow the company year after year.
